Introduction[]
Ye Fan is the main protagonist of the novel "Shrouding the Heavens" (遮天) . He, along with 29 of his classmates, got transported from Earth to a planet called the Emperor Burial Star during their journey exploring Mount Tai during a school reunion. He and his friend Pang Bo regressed to young appearance due to eating at least 4 red sacred fruits each at Ancient Desolation Forbidden Land.
Afterwards, he joined Spirit Ruins Paradise along with his best friend Pang Bo. Initially the elders of Spirit Ruins Paradise thought Ye Fan was a rare cultivating talent but it was found out that he possessed a rare and ancient Physique, called the "Ancient Desolation Sacred Body" that was unable to be cultivated in their current era. Unknown to them the physique could be cultivated but it just required more resources.
His physique grants him a Golden Sea of Bitterness that is as vast as a real ocean, unlike normal ones that are a lot smaller.
With Pang Bo hijacked by a deceased Demon soul, Ye Fan began his true cultivation journey.

Ye Fan has a delicate and tender appearance in the Donghua, which makes him look like a harmless young man, and even appearing naïve and bright. He is very smart person, full of calculation in every action.

StoryLine[]
During college, he was a key player in the school football team, a popular figure in the school, and a lover of bizarre books. When he and his old classmates gathered at Mount Tai, they were taken away from the earth in a bronze coffin, and found the ruins of Leiyin Temple on Mars. After experiencing the catastrophe of the divine crocodile, they came to the Big Dipper Star Region. After being rescued by the girl Weiwei, they were selected by the six great caves. Only Ye Fan, who had an ancient holy body and could not practice conventional cultivation, was not accepted as a disciple, but he still stayed in Lingxu Cave to practice, and figured out a way to move forward by himself.
The tomb of the Demon Emperor of the East Desert appeared. Ye Fan and Pang Bo went to watch, but Pang Bo was possessed by a big demon and left. Ye Fan, who gained some benefits in the treasure hunt, knew that Lingxu Dongtian was not a good place, so he left decisively. Later, he rescued Jiang Haisheng and Jiang Ting, the grandparents and grandchildren of the Jiang family who were stranded outside, but was chased by Jiang Yichen, who coveted Ye Fan's treasure and was in the team that took them back to the Jiang family. Soon after, the Ji family wanted to surround and kill this group of demons to seize the demon emperor's holy soldiers. In the fierce battle, Ye Fan hijacked Ji Ziyue and broke through. Later, he mistakenly entered the Tongyou River and broke into the ancient bronze palace, but did not dare to enter the gate of all wonders, and escaped through the passage made by the predecessors.
After Ji Ziyue unlocked the ban, she forced Ye Fan to cooperate with her. The two joined the Taixuan Sect to learn one of the Nine Secrets, and Ye Fan became Zhuo Feng's disciple. Ye Fan met him again and escorted Ji Ziyue back to the Ji family after many dangers. Ji Hui, the elder of the Ji family, was ungrateful and sent Ji Ren to hunt down Ye Fan because Ye Fan practiced the "Great Void Technique". Ye Fan killed Ji Ren and went away, but was rescued and taken in by the Peacock King.
However, the Ji family and the various forces from the Yaoguang Holy Land soon entered the Peacock King's cave, and Ye Fan was forced to flee the Qixia Mountains in the middle of Jin State and enter the Fire Region at the western end. He rushed into the sixth level of "Purple Air Coming from the East" to escape. Half a year later, he wanted to go to the Northern Region of the East Desert from the Xiaoyao Gate, but failed because of the siege by the Ji family. He was chased by Ji Haiyue and had a cause and effect with Yao Xi, the Saint of Yaoguang. Ye Fan's power was sealed by Yao Xi's Fengxian Powder and he was mistaken for a mortal. He then took the opportunity of the Yaoguang Holy Land to select people to go to the Northern Region to dig for sources and went to the Northern Region, and escaped during the riot in the mining area.
After rescuing the village of Zhang Wuye, the descendant of Yuan Tianshi, Ye Fan obtained information, entered Guhuang Mountain to obtain Yuan Tianshu, was taught the secret of Dou character by Jiang Taixu, and established the Mining Sect, starting to create his own power.
Ye Fan wanted to obtain the Yao Chi Xihuang Sutra, so he transformed into a Taoist priest. After experiencing the Kunyun Stone Appreciation and Taichu adventures, he was invited by the Yao Chi Saint to participate in a stone appreciation conference. The Ji family and the Yaoguang Holy Land organized the Quzhou Youth Monks Conference, intending to mobilize people to arrest and kill Ye Fan, but Ye Fan went to kill people and disrupt it.
Afterwards, Ye Fan followed Tu Fei into the space where the Green Dragon King of Yunze Province lived in seclusion, and sneaked into the Palace of Immortality with Hei Huang. He suppressed the old demon's consciousness that had taken over Pang Bo's body, allowing Pang Bo to regain control of his body.
Later, Ye Fan experienced the battle of Wu Shi's bedroom, during which he cheated Duan De twice to avenge his past grudges. When escaping, he mistakenly entered the God Desert due to a mistake in the Black Emperor's transmission. After solving the mystery of the God Desert, he went to the God City to gamble on stones, during which time Pang Bo came out of seclusion.
Jiang Taixu was rescued by the Jiang family from the Ancient Emperor Mountain, but was besieged. Ye Fan saved Jiang Taixu, was blessed by the God King, mediated the feuds with various forces, and was able to break into the Four Poles, but was injured by the Great Dao and went to the Ancient Forbidden Land to continue his life. With the help of Zhongzhou monk Ye Huiling, he successfully obtained the Holy Fruit and was reborn. After leaving, Ye Fan pretended that his injuries had not recovered, and exposed Hua Yunfei's identity as a ruthless descendant to divert the attention of all parties. After adopting Xiao Nannan in the Douyin and Yang Sect, Ye Fan and Pang Boli and others went on an adventure in the Immortal Mountain together.
After congratulating Feng Jingyun on his birthday, Ye Fan pretended to go to Tianxuan's hometown to receive treatment from Doctor Wang. There he found the old madman. Ye Fan used the secret message of the word "Xing" to let the old madman accompany him. Relying on the old madman to intimidate all forces, the group successfully went to the Holy Cliff and obtained the secret technique.
Ye Fan went to the Yaochi Grand Meeting. Because of the Xuanhuang Mother Qi, he was suspected by the strong men to be related to the ruthless emperor. He led the strong men to the Wanlong Nest to prove his innocence, but a group of masters suffered heavy casualties. However, the leader of the Yin-Yang Sect, Wang Yangzhan, held Xiao Nannan hostage, forcing Ye Fan to return to Yaochi. At the critical moment, the demon tribe rescued Ye Fan. The Killing Saint Alliance used Liu Yiyi to lure Ye Fan into the killing game. Ye Fan used the thunder tribulation to almost kill all the enemies, rescued Liu Yiyi and retreated, and went to Zhongzhou.
In Zhongzhou, Ye Fan rescued Princess Yudie of Anping State and was named the Lord of Lucheng, which was adjacent to Qishi Mansion. He learned about the world of immortals from Qi Qi, the princess of the Nanling demon clan, and went there from the ancient locust tree forest. Wang Teng proposed to the Ji family to marry Ji Ziyue. Ye Fan obtained a small bronze coffin from the ancient forbidden land and went to Wang Teng's house to fight and defeated him. The small coffin flew back to the forbidden land and caused a change. The Nine Dragons pulled the coffin and set sail again. Ye Fan boarded it but came to Ziwei and fought in Ziwei. He killed Lu Ya, Duanmu Ming, Yin Tianzhi, Jiutou Jiaowang and other masters of the new generation of Ziwei. He also had a cause and effect with Yi Qingwu, the fiancée of Yin Tiande, who obtained the Laozi Daotong. Then he returned to Beidou with Yan Yixi and Li Tian, the two brothers of Renyu Dao, and found that the ancient creatures had been born strongly. Ye Fan led the barbarians to attack and destroy the Wang family, killed Zi Tiandu, the young master of Shenling Valley, and entered Guhuang Mountain again to activate the Wushi Bell. On Earth, Ye Fan searched for the ancient secrets, defeated the Church, brought back the Central Plains ancestral artifact, and established a branch of the Heavenly Court. After the Dao was cut off, Ye Fan led Zhang Qingyang and others to the west through Hangu Pass, and then to Beidou, where he killed the Heavenly Prince together with the Holy Prince and Ji Zi, and finally killed Wang Teng in the Western Desert.
The road to becoming an immortal is about to begin. Saints from outside the domain are coming, Yaoguang's tomb is cracked, Huang is born, the Eternal Kingdom is beginning to take shape, and Beidou is undergoing changes. After defeating the goddess of the Golden Clan and sweeping across the ten fierce clans with Gai Jiuyou, he embarks on the road to the starry sky of Qishi Mansion.
Ye Fan came to the Eternal Kingdom and cooperated with Heaven to obtain the Evolutionary Fluid to refine his body, but he turned against Heaven because the Fan Family wanted to control him. The Eternal Kingdom attacked the Beidou Ancient Clan because of Qi Lin's deception. Ye Fan took the opportunity to return to Beidou temporarily, refined the Evolutionary Fluid for his old friends, and destroyed the two killer dynasties. Then he set foot on the road of trial again. Ten years after arriving in the Eternal Kingdom, he came to the first city of the human race and began the real trial.
After many trials and adventures, such as the battle for the source of the Sutra, the attack of the Holy Spirit alien race, and the battle of the Heavenly Soldiers Star, Ye Fan became a saint and encountered the enemy of the Holy Body, Tyrant Body, and defeated him. After that, he took advantage of the opportunity of the Demon King's Tomb to rescue his friend Pangbo, and entered the ancient mythological road together, crossed the sea of suffering of Lingbao Tianzun to the other side to reach the God Realm, and met the brothers and sisters of the Ji family. After the destruction of the God Realm and the treasure-grabbing war, he returned to the ancient human road and walked to the end, and inscribed his name on the crystal monument at the entrance of the Emperor Road. After bloodbathing the ancient road, he returned to Beidou, killed the strong men of the Jinwu tribe who came to Beidou for Ye Tong, and issued another manifesto to fight against Mount Xumi and rescue Huahua.
After the battle of Yao Chi Ten Thousand Races Grand Gathering, Ye Fan went to Ziwei to rescue Xiao Nannan, went on an expedition to the mother star of Teng Snake to rescue the Black Emperor trapped in the Quasi-Emperor Formation, and chased after the Teng Snake Patriarch and killed him. After returning to the Ji family, Ye Fan married Ji Ziyue. On the wedding night, the fairyland was connected, and the forbidden area supremes attacked but failed. The fairy road was destroyed by the wilderness, the God Organization and the Wushi Bell. The undead supreme launched a dark turmoil to maintain his life.
With the joint efforts of the strong, the supreme beings were gradually suppressed. The first generation owner of the ancient forbidden land (one of the nine generations of great saints) fought against Changsheng Tianzun and died with him. Later, Huangdi (the spiritual wisdom born from the corpse of Emperor Xukong), Ji Zi, Shennong (the spiritual wisdom born from the corpse of Emperor Hengyu), Jiang Taixu and Gai Jiuyou died with the Lord of Samsara, the Supreme of Light and Darkness and the Lord of Shenxu respectively, and Ye Fan was also seriously injured. After returning, Ye Fan survived the Quasi-Emperor Tribulation and killed three ancient princes in the process. The Heavenly Court went to war with the Divine Court. The Emperor of the Divine Court was frightened away by the little girl, and the Divine Court was defeated. Ye Fan, the Holy Prince, the Human Demon and others chased the Emperor to no avail. After entering the Ninth Emperor Pass, they met an old man chopping wood, who repelled the Undead Queen and killed the Emperor.
After the death of the Emperor, the God Court collapsed, and the woodcutter founded the Dao Palace, which stood side by side with the Phoenix Nest, the Underworld, and the God Organization. The immortal road of Feixianxing was opened, the immortal tripods gathered and dispersed, the six supreme beings wasted their efforts and finally died, while Sakyamuni, Laozi, Ji Ziyue and Xiao Zi entered the immortal realm instead. During this period, the Immortal Mountain was destroyed by Ye Fan, and the quasi-emperor of the Jinwu tribe also achieved enlightenment, but was injured in the war and could not be perfect, so he was suppressed by Ye Fan.
The four forbidden areas joined forces to deal with Ye Fan, but failed. The four supreme beings all died, and the ruins of gods and the immortal mausoleum were also destroyed by Ye Fan. After that, Ye Fan surpassed the great way of heaven and earth, became an emperor, and was called the Emperor of Heaven.
After becoming an emperor, he wiped out the Heavenly Palace, and the Taichu Ancient Mine disappeared from the world. The Immortal Mountain, the Ruins of Gods, and the Heavenly Palace all became the courtyards of the Heavenly Court, which was extremely glorious and no one in the world could compete with it.
Ye Fan was 6,000 years old. He built three temples, Jiuyou, Jizi and Taixu, and wanted to revive the three people with his telekinesis. At 6,500 years old, he returned to Earth to see his old friends. He traced the origins of Mount Tai and met the Emperor Huang Tian who cut off the ancient Mount Tai. Then he walked along the trajectory of the Heavenly Road, met his old friends, and held a grand meeting in the Heavenly Palace.
When Ye Fan was 10,000 years old, the Golden Age ended and the world was silent; when he was more than 14,000 years old, the Golden Crow Emperor passed away. More than 4,000 years later, (1806) he discussed the Dao with the Green Emperor who appeared in his physical form; when he was 23,000 years old, he received a letter from Duan De. When he was 26,000 years old, he took the immortality elixir and started his *2* life. In the later years of his second life, Ye Fan failed to find the red-haired monster and was attacked twice by the six supreme beings and the Immortal Emperor through the Feixian Waterfall. After killing the eight supreme beings and pacifying the Taichu Ancient Mine and the Underworld, he was seriously injured and dying. He was taken to the Chengxian Pool by Xiaosong, and he was reborn in the Chengxian Pool and lived out his third life.
When he was 30,000 years old in his *3* life, he was inspired by the human-shaped magic medicine and lived his *4* life. After 100,000 years of the Heavenly Emperor, Ye Fan imprisoned his own path and the Golden Age came again. After more than 125,000 years, he met the sixth generation Duan De; (1814) a few years later, he sealed Ye Xian and accepted Kou Xiaoxiao, who looked like An Miaoyi, as his last disciple. In the late fourth life, the Green Emperor returned and wanted to fight for the immortal path. Ye Fan helped him to open the immortal path. The Green Emperor entered the passage and his life and death were unknown. After more than 10,000 years, Kou Xiaoxiao was sealed and he met the seventh generation Duan De.
During the 138,000 years of the Heavenly Emperor's calendar, Ye Fan cultivated hundreds of scriptures in a furnace, melted all the ways into one, transformed into a chaotic body, lived out his *5* life, and created the "Chaos Sutra".
During the 188,000-year Tiandi calendar, Di Que attained enlightenment for 8,000 years. Ten thousand years later, Di Que's traces of enlightenment disappeared, and the God-killing Bug became the emperor, intending to rule the heavens, but was suppressed by Ye Fan with one finger. During the 216,000-year Tiandi calendar, Ye Fan cut off his chaotic body, returned to his origin, and lived out his *6* life.
After 230,000 years of the Heavenly Emperor's calendar, the Chaos Body was born. Ye Fan unsealed Ye Xian. Eight hundred years later, Ye Xian became a Quasi-Emperor, and Ye Fan sealed him. Eleven thousand five hundred years later, Ye Fan defeated the Chaos Heavenly Emperor Wang Bo who came to challenge him within ten moves, and met the Eighth Generation Duan De. Eight hundred years after unsealing Shen Wa, Shen Wa became a Quasi-Emperor, and Ye Fan sealed him. After defeating Wang Bo who came to challenge him again within ten moves, he forged two swords, combined the four swords of Zhu Xian into six swords, and supplemented the sacrifice formation diagram. He tried to let the six emperors each hold a killing sword to suppress a Heavenly Emperor.
The Emperor of Heaven has lived for 300,000 years. Ye Fan has lived his *7* life. He has dreamed of eternity, and has experienced eternity in the mortal world. After more than 400 lives, he was framed by the Black Emperor and gave birth to a child, Ye Yishui, with Chenxi, the innate Taoist fetus. After death, he awakened and returned to heaven. He placed the divine source that sealed Chenxi in the central palace and fell asleep again, embarking on the road to immortality in his heart. Ten thousand years later, the Mother Qi Cauldron of All Things carried Ye Fan into the universe, and he realized immortality under the starry sky.
In order to explore the secret of the innate holy body, the Immortal Emperor once again came to the human world through the Feixian Waterfall, attempting to abduct Ye Yishui. After sweeping across the heavens, he was repelled by the awakened Ye Fan. After 400,000 years of the Emperor of Heaven, Ye Fan cut off the origin of the holy body, turned into a mortal body, and lived out his *8* life. (1820) After 480,000 years of the Emperor of Heaven, Ye Fan defeated the Immortal Tears Green Gold Holy Spirit Emperor who came to challenge him within ten moves. The three temples disappeared, and only Ji Zi and Jiang Taixu were resurrected. A few years later, Ye Yishui was unsealed. After Ye Yishui became enlightened, he entered the universe to find the Hedao flower for Xiaosong.
Ye Fan discovered the fairyland evolved by Emperor Huang Tian in the Nine Dragons Coffin and invited the Empress to watch. After 520,000 years of the Emperor Tian calendar, Ye Fan collected the nine secrets. After 550,000 years of the Emperor Tian calendar, Ye Fan became an immortal in the mortal world, and the years did not add to his body. He lived to the *9* life to restore his peak. When he was 720,000 years old, Ye Fan cast a nine-color immortal tripod, and the mother gas tripod of all things was fused to form the supreme immortal device Emperor Tian Ding. Decades later, he protected the strong men in the heavenly court to become emperors, and then led the heavenly soldiers and generals and old friends to join forces with the ruthless emperor, the emperor without beginning, and Duan De to conquer the immortal road and enter the strange world.
